WHAT DO YOU WANT TO SEE MORE OF ON THE BLOG?
Happy Friday everyone! This has been one of the longest weeks. Turns out attempting to work and entertain 2 active boys on April vaca isn't as easy as I'd imagine. Remind me next year to book a vacation.
This Year
Next Year
My husband is working from home today (sitting on calls all day in the kitchen) and it's raining so the boys are thrilled to have some xbox time (aka... please stay quiet while dads on a call) so I was able to sneak away in my office to get some work done since I can't really make any noise anywhere in my house. As I was enjoying that quiet time to get some work done and playing around with different design boards for some clients, I realized I don't share a lot of behind the scenes work that goes on with my projects and it got me thinking about what you want to see more of on the blog. I'll give you a little backstory of why I decided to start this blog and why it took me so long in the first place. I started this blog as a means to share what's going on with JCD and a couple other things I enjoy talking about such as fashion/entertaining/holidays. I've always had a love for fashion (which is why I'm a Stella & Dot Stylist 7 years later). I kind of like it too much and they make it so easy to have a flexible schedule that I don't see myself giving it up anytime soon. Plus, it's my way of still fulfilling my other passion and who can complain about an awesome accessories collection. In my other life I also think I'd like to be an event planner. If you haven't been able to tell from my awful all over the place writing I have ADHD and so I think this is why I can't choose one career. My brain isn't wired to just do one thing. I have a love / hate relationship with ADHD. It makes me the creative person I am today but it also makes me my own worst enemy. I'll write another post on my struggles with ADHD but that's for another day. Because I can't process the thoughts in my head properly into text, I put off starting a blog for years even after multiple suggestions from friends and family to just go for it. I finally told myself even though I may be the worst writer, I enjoy sharing ideas/tips with everyone. I kept thinking no one will read it but after running into people in the store and hearing that they actually read my blog, enjoy it and recommend posts that I should write it makes me feel like I made the right decision. I'm thankful to those that read The Style Nest and follow along with me. If I can inspire someone to love their home more, style their closet so that they love it or throw an awesome party then I feel like it's all worth it.
So to everyone who follows along with me whether it be a reader of the blog, following me on instagram (this is where I tend to share some behind the scenes stuff and real life mom moments), my pinterest page or facebook page, I wanted to see what you'd like to see more of. Would you like to continue to see fashion posts?
More party planning ideas? Like how to throw together an impromptu girls night in one trip to the grocery store.
Would you be interested in seeing YouTube videos on design ideas or beauty tutorials? I'm no beauty expert but I'm a makeup hoarder so I have a lot of favorite products I like to recommend. How to put together a capsule collection in your closet?
More design styling ideas?
More design styling ideas?
Would you want to see more real life moments in my life? It might all look pretty on the outside but there's a lot going on in our household. Lots!
Sometimes people can relate when they know you don't have your shit together all the time and believe me I don't. I have a child on the autism spectrum who also has ADHD and another who doesn't sleep or sit down. My kids are so lucky, they inherited all my amazing genes (insert sarcasm) well one thing they should be lucky they didn't inherit is my math skills (they got my husbands) thank freaking god! Speaking of my husband I'm lucky to have a hubs who's a total Type A and optimist to keep us balanced. Although he sometimes probably doesn't fully understand how our brains work because how could you if yours works the opposite way he knows how we function and we're thankful for that. Sorry, went off on a tangent here. Anyway, hopefully you get the idea of what I'm looking for and to make it easier I created a survey you can fill out to help me out with future blog posts. Also message me with any suggestions you have, I'd love to hear them. Hope everyone has a great weekend! We're kicking off baseball season tomorrow.

SPRING FASHION
As I sat down to write another blog post I saw that my Easter Spring Fashion post never fully uploaded (insert grumpy face). I'm sure everyone has their best picked out for this Easter Sunday but if you're a procrastinator like me and still don't have it figured out I found some cute outfits for you and the little ones.
In New England the weather is always hit or miss with Easter, we may have snow or it may be 7- degrees, luckily this year it looks like it's going to be 70 degrees or somewhat close. Yay for warm weather! We deserve it. I've been eyeing this dress up from J.Crew and it comes in a couple different colors as well as a blue and pink seersucker. Not only is it cute for Easter it would be a great option for a summer wedding or baby shower too and you can accessorize with cute jewelry and fun shoes. Click on links below to shop

Navy off the shoulder dress // Gingham Heels (40% off your purchase today) // Gold Bangle // Tassel Earrings // Yellow Scalloped Clutch // Cashmere Wrap
I love any excuse to get my boys dressed up because as most moms of boys we live in a gym gear only world. Give me all the gingham, bow ties and cute shoes possible!
Braided belt // blue pants // gingham shirt (on sale for $18!) // dress shoes they'll actually wear // sunglasses (40% off with code YOURTREAT) // fedora (I mean how cute!)
I'd probably be in a lot of trouble if I had a girl, actually I know I would so I had to create a little girls look since I don't get to physically dress one. This dress is darling and the little quilted faux chanel bag...LOVE!
Necklace (this one sold out since I sourced this but here's another cute one) // Shoes (B1G1 50%) // Dress // Sunglasses // Her own little faux Chanel bag

FRIDAY FEATURED HOME TOUR
As a Stella & Dot stylist I've seen the interior of Jessica Herrin's gorgeous home grace her social media pages and have always day dreamed about having a personal tour and spending the day there. Well, lucky for us we're able to get a little tour of her gorgeous historic Hillsborough, Ca home designed by Kendall Wilkinson. You can read the full article on Traditional Home here.
How gorgeous is this custom painted silk wallpaper? Obsessed!!!
This dining room is just to die for, I mean that chandelier! I love the modern pop of color in the art in the space. It adds a youthful touch to the space.
The Stark fabric and textures in this room make me just want to touch everything. I probably would and then hope that there wasn't a home security camera watching me.
Jessica's office may be one of my favorite rooms. It's so simple yet so elegant.
Her husband Chad's game room is just hands down awesome. I don't blame her for kicking him out and hosting her own girls game nights. I'd do the same! My girlfriends and I would probably never leave and we'd lock the door.
It's been a lifelong goal of mine to have doors like this in my own home. Just ask my husband. Every addition discussion begins with...and we'll put the french doors here.
I've had a bedroom pinned with this suzani fabric FOREVER and I'm still so in love with it to this day and how gorgeous is that cared fireplace surround?
I really like this shape of this island. It just invites you to come and hang out for awhile.
I wish they would have shared her full dressing room because you would just want to live in there but you can get an idea of how amazing it is from this picture. I'll have to hunt down a good picture to share with all of you because now that I said how awesome it is, I'm sure you want to see it.
The downstairs has so many bold colors and I love how serene this bedroom is with this gorgeous silver leaf bed.
Maybe I'd put more effort into getting ready if this is what I could get ready in front of. #bathroomgoals
Jessica's always sharing cute pictures of her girls having breakfast in bed and I'm always admiring their headboards. I'm also admiring the fact that I love that they do breakfast in bed too. Does finding marshmallow fluff under your sons bed count as them attempting breakfast in bed?
Last but definitely not least is the pool house. I'll be dreaming of hanging out here all weekend. Let me know when it's Monday.
