FRIDAY FAVS: FOR YOUR HOME AND WARDROBE

www.thestylenestblog.com

The sun is shining and it finally feels like fall, yay! It’s a good start to the weekend. I don’t know about you but each season gives me the urge to refresh not only my home but my wardrobe as well and here are the things that I have been loving and been dying to wear once the weather cooled off. Along with my secret source for pillow covers under $10!

1. I forgot I got this sweater a couple weeks ago and I LOOOVE it. It’s the perfect sweater to wear out if you’re not wanting to get dressed up but want to show a little bit of sexy. It’s so soft too and a great length.

2. I saw this coat and fell in love because you know I don't own enough coats. Even better if you’re not in a fancy fur cuff mood you can remove them.

3. I love handbags as much as I love shoes and coats but let’s be honest, we don’t always have time to switch them out and then when we do we forget something in the other one and we have receipts and lip glosses all over the place. So I now invest in a good bag that I know I’ll use all season long. This one is the one you’ll see me in all winter. It’s so buttery soft and love the cross body option.

4. I spotted this fur throw at target the other day. Perfect to throw on your couch or across your bed.

5. If you don’t have these faux leather leggings then you NEED to go get them! They’re the most comfortable leggings I’ve owned. You can even sleep in them after a night out. Takes out that extra step when you’re too tired to put pj’s on. I may or may not have done this the other night.

6. This new abstract art piece at target has so many of my favorite colors in it. It reminds me of a minted piece and would work with so many colors. Navy, blush, dark green, cream. It's a great price too for the size.

7 &8. Olive green is such a hot color right now and these pillows would look great paired with a gold velvet or a blush velvet. My secret source for solid velvet pillows is H&M home. If you live in the Boston area there is a store on Newbury street but if you don’t live near a store you can order online. They’re only $9.99!

9. And a little front porch inspiration designed by Joanna and Chip Gaines.

Enjoy the weekend!

RECAP OF HIGH POINT MARKET

This past weekend I took my first trip to High Point Market. I was lucky to have my brother join me and we met up with old and new friends Kimberly and Ellie. We had so much fun exploring floors and floors of new showrooms, learning how furniture is made, sitting and touching everything and partying with celeb designers...ok maybe not partying but we did get a bathroom selfie. There was so much to see and do and one of my favorite things besides lusting over all the gorgeous decor was trendspotting. As I let my overtired feet get some rest and revisit my 5 gazillion photos, I wanted to share some of my favorite new finds and top 5 design trends.

design trend #1-modern macrame

They say what goes around comes around and the 70's are comin' back around y'all. I usually think of macrame as more of a California style that's a trend that won't be around for awhile or aren't necessarily my design aesthetic but I found myself falling in love with some macrame pieces  that would work well in New England and aren't over the top Cali-chill like this chandelier. Yep, that's macrame! I thought it was metal from a distance.

design trend #2- details on the backs of chairs

Nailheads aren't going anywhere but add some leather, metal lines and interesting wood framing to create an even more unique piece that stands out in the crowd.

design trend #3- florals

the floral fabric trend is one that has taken me awhile to get into but florals used this way I can definitely jump on board with especially the brass tables

design trend #4- rattan and natural elements

Lots of natural wood elements from bleached tree tables to rattan chairs and stools. What used to be used mostly for outdoor spaces can now be incorporated in even the most modern spaces.

design trend #5- acrylic details

Not that acrylic is that new of a design trend but we noticed a lot of acrylic details on the legs of dining room tables, light fixtures and ottomans.
