MY FAVORITE THINGS PARTY

This week on Instagram I have been sharing my Favorite Things and Giveaway to win these favorite things. You can see some of my favorite things I shared below. We have 3 more days to go with something exciting on the last day!

If you have never been to a Favorite Things Party, I’ll give you a little rundown of how they work. They’re so fun! It’s such a great way to share your favorite things, but also learn about other peoples’ favorite things!

Here’s how I host my Favorite Things Party:

Everybody brings 3 of the same gift. We do a price range of $20 but you could select whatever amount you think your guests would be comfortable with. When everyone arrives, they put their name on a piece of paper in a bowl, 3 times (for the 3 gifts you’re giving) and choose a number (this will be the order everyone will present their favorite thing)

When your number is called, you share what you brought and explain why it’s one your favorite thing. Then you draw 3 names to gift your favorite things to! So easy, and everybody goes home with 3 new favorite things! This party also inspires we ruined with new gift ideas to give that holiday season. We’ve had everything from Poo-Pouri to the candle that is what they burn at the Plaza Hotel in NYC. you could even do a funny or dirty favorite thing to mix it up.

Here are some of my Favorite Things I have shared so far this week. These items are above the normal $20 I would spend at my party but I wanted a way to give back as a Thank you for following along with me and I honestly love all of these things I shared. These would also make great Gifts!

DAY ONE

The Polished Jar dispensers, tray and bamboo brush. These dispensers are my favorite because they not only look beautiful in your kitchen or bath but they have so many customizable options available to neatly organize you’re whole home or business. These make a great gift set with the tray and bamboo brush.

DAY TWO

Cozy Earth Socks. I discovered this brand because of their incredibly soft bamboo bedding. Then I saw they had socks too and I had to have them. They are the softest. I love that they’re not super thick so I can easily wear with my boots and around the house. This giveaway is closed but you can still receive 45% of your order with code THESTYLENEST45

DAY THREE

This is a little luxury favorite of mine. It’s pricey but smells oh so good! One of my favorite perfumes Santal 33 teamed up with The Laundress to create a laundry scent.

DAY FOUR

These are 2 of my favorite makeup items. This is the mascara I have been using for over a year. I’ve never gone back to anything else. I love it because the mascara wraps tubes around your eyelashes giving you extra long lashes and no black smudging or flaming under your eyes! My other favorite beauty item is this Kosas air brow gel. Because of my thyroid disease, the outer edge of my eyebrows have thinned out over the years. I used to have to use a gel and color them in. This allows me to do all of that. Both of these products are also clean which is important to me. You will love both of them!

DAY FIVE

One of my favorite local shops to buy home goods and accessories is Abode Shoppe in Newburyport. The owner Gina is a doll to work with and her shop has the best stuff. This basket bowl and these linen napkins are so beautiful in person. If you’re local. Stop by to do some holiday shopping!

DAY SIX

This favorite thing hits my sweet tooth. These are 2 local companies that make the best coffee cake and caramels I’ve ever had and I’ve had a lot! My Grandmas Coffee Cakes are a fav in my whole house. We love the cinnamon, cinnamon walnut and blueberry. If you’re heading to Christmas Brunch this would be a great cake to bring. I really wish these caramels weren’t at the checkout of our local grocery store because it makes it way to easy for me to grab them as I’m checking out and eat them all before I get home which is 1/2 mile away. I love their sea salt black lava but all of the other flavors are so good. You can get a variety pack here if you want to try them all out.

DAY SEVEN

Today’s Giveaway is a good one. I’ve been a huge Beautycounter fan since the company first started. I love what this company is trying to do in the beauty industry. There is very little regulation on beauty products and Beautycounter is very transparent in what is in their ingredients. A majority of skin problems stems from the chemicals that are in our products. I teamed up with my friend to give one lucky winner the lotus Beauty cleansing balm. I use this to wash the makeup off my face every evening with these cleansing clothes. On days that my face is really dry, I will use it as a balm overnight. I also included my favorite make up brush cleaner and cleansing mat. You could just use the itcosmetics make up cleaner on its own but I find that the cleansing mat helps to get them really clean.

Instructions to enter to win my Favorite Things Giveaways are listed on the posts on my feed. Continue to follow along for the next 3 days to see what other Favorite thing I will be giving away.

Good luck to everyone!

GIFT GUIDE FOR MEN

I normally struggle on finding gifts for the men in my life but this year I found a slew of great items out there. Gifts for the outdoorsy, tech gifts, for the foodies and some great winter gear to have your men looking great this winter season.

If you don't already have a solo stove, this is one of our favorite items that we have and use. What I love about it, is that I don't have to wash my clothes or smell like smoke after sitting around the fire. It keeps it nice and contained and makes for an easy clean up. It is currently on sale right now for an early black friday sale!  We have the medium bonfire size and this accessory kit is a great addition to the stove.

GIFT GUIDE FOR THE LITTLE KIDS

Maybe one of my favorite gift guides to put together is for the little kids. Maybe it's because there are soooo many cute and unique things out there, I mean how adorable is the mini Peleton? I find that I tend to pick gift ideas that I think will keep kids occupied throughout the winter, like this 3 in 1 sports set or  these Loverly Play Kits. It's a subscription service that mails a different box each month and as they get older it comes every 3 months. Included in the boxes are stage based play essentials for your child's specific age. Mason loves these! It's the only toy that he sits and plays with for a long time. Their quality is amazing! So if you are a parent or grandparent looking for a unique gift, these are my favorite. I found so many cute gift ideas but narrowing it down was hard so I've added a couple more below!

GIFT GUIDE FOR TEENS

I'm kicking off my gift guides with the teens,  maybe the 2nd hardest to shop for beside men. My boys didn't give me many ideas but I did run these ideas by them and they approved. Since I don't have girls, I poll my girlfriends teenagers for some ideas and also scour the internet for cute gift ideas. I secretly enjoy it! I hope that these gift guides will give you some ideas for those hard to shop for teens. I've added additional items below the guides as well. If you come across any amazing gift ideas for teen girls or boys. leave them in the comments.

All of my gift guides are posted here as well

UPDATING OUR ENTRY WITH ALL MODERN

*This post was sponsored by AllModern but all opinions are my own*

With the change of seasons comes a new desire to update our home to make it work better for the season of life that we are in and thankfully that is back to school! Anyone else extremely grateful for this?

With running in and out of the house more frequently, we needed a place to be able to place our bags and take off our shoes. Our foyer is very traditional with the beautiful round banister and crown moulding and although I love these older traditional features of our home, I was feeling like our foyer need a little bit of a refresh.

So when All Modern selected us to participate in their Make a Grand Entrance campaign, I jumped at the opportunity. I knew exactly what I wanted to upgrade!

AllModern has a lot of great options for your entry. They make it easy to shop too! I was able to save all the items I was looking at for our foyer in a folder and narrow down my design from those options. The first item I was on the hunt for was a bench that would fit in our narrow alcove below the stairs. I wanted something upholstered and a little more modern. This Oslo bench was the perfect fit. Simple, yet comfortable and also in stock! Can we get a hallelujah for that!!!  I liked that the more modern legs brought in that little modern update I was going for and the neutral fabric would allow me to change out the decor with the seasons.

To add some color to the space I chose this beautiful blue embroidered pillow. I love the contrast with the color of the bench and I think it fills in the corner space of my foyer nicely. It's also beautifully made and so pretty in person. These would be beautiful paired with a camel colored pillow.

Increasing the cozy factor for the season is this simple throw blanket. We can easily grab this as we head out the door to sit by the fire on those cool fall evenings. I also love that it's called the Bodine Blanket because my cat, Bode has already claimed her spot on it. I should start calling her Bodine since she is a girl cat with a boy name. That's a story for another day.

Foyers are one of the hardest used areas in the home so a durable rug that can easily hide the dirt is a MUST in the space. I'm always a huge fan of the price and looks of a jute rug and at under $50 for this one, I don't feel guilty having to replace it when this one has done it's time. Paired with our dark floors it brings in some warmth to the space.

The last final touch to our entryway update was a new piece of art. I like adding art to unexpected places like the smaller empty walls in the entry. The wall felt a little bare next to the bench. I eventually want to add another piece to this but I like to start with a starting point and build upon it, maybe one of the postcards I've collected from our travels. I also wanted to tie in the black with the metal legs from the bench.

I love how I was able to update this entry of ours and make a more usable space for our family and can't wait to sit down and kick off my shoes at the end of a long day but to be honest I'm most excited about having a place to keep my purse. Maybe I can accomplish more things with all the time I will be saving not looking for it.

FATHER'S DAY GIFT IDEAS

With Father's Day around the corner, it's time to start thinking about what to get that special guy in your life. There are so many cool gadgets out there right now that there is sure to be something for everyone on my gift guides. From the hottest new pizza oven (that I'll be sharing on Insta stories) to the most clever water bottle that stores your keys and airpods there has to be something your Dad hasn't yet bought himself. As I was working on these gift guides, Rob gave his approval on many items. We have some of these that he loves and some that he's wanting to try out. So here we go...

First up is the Grill Master in your life. I have one of those so we have tried lots of gadgets and grills. I recently got him the Ooni pizza oven for his birthday. It was backordered and just came in last week so we are going to fire it up and test it out with you on stories. The other hot grill item is the Blackstone Tabletop outdoor grill. We had one of these at our beach rental last year and it was easy to use. It also has a portable travel bag that you can store all the accessories. Perfect for camping or a day at the beach. If you prefer a charcoal grill, the portable table top grill is not only good looking, it's the perfect size for traveling. Looking to step it up a notch, get a personalized one here. I was psyched to see the Cup Board Pro in my hunt for the perfect gift. I remember seeing this on Shark Tank and wanting this but it had been sold out for so long.

Next is the outdoorsy type. We're huge fans of our solo stove but this Kamoto small open fire pit folds up so small, that it's great for camping and on the go. If you've seen anyone share videos with the new go pro, then you know how cool it is. Lots of accessories to go with it too. We have this bean bag toss set and they have held up well. They fold up with a handle to carry them easily and store the bean bags inside. They also look good too!

And lastly is my overall picks for Father's day. If you don't yet have a massage gun, this is a highly used item in our household. It has relieved many muscle pains. I like this new apple key fob, although it is me who needs this and not Rob but for the dads always misplacing their keys, then this is a good gift idea. A masterclass subscription for the Dad's wanting to learn from the best, cool kicks, ice molds and so much more!

I hope that these gift guides help you with you shopping for that special Dad in your life!

Midcentury Modern Bedroom Refresh with All Modern

This post was sponsored by AllModern, and may contain affiliate links. As always, all opinions are my own

We recently refreshed a favorite MidCentury bedroom project of ours. A style popularized in the 1940s and 60s, the Mid-Century Modern design movement was born out of the romantic idea that “good design could change lives.” It was a style that was all about functionality, accessibility, and modern simplicity. It's a look that is great for smaller more modern aesthetic spaces. It's a clean simple style that incorporates different textures paired with more modern unexpected elements.

We added these modern dome shaped brass table lamps to the side tables for the fun element of the space. It keeps the space looking sleek and creates the perfect amount of light for reading in bed.

I have this thing for black graphic pillows. They're just really good at making a sharp impression on a space. I wanted to keep the bed nice and simple with white bedding and add a statement pillow. These abstract pillow covers are such a great price for a designer look.

We finished off the bedroom with new accessories for the bedside tables. In midcentury modern design you want to keep things simplified. Adding some new art work, decorative accessories and some fresh flowers make the space feel finished but not overdone.

I love how this little Midcentury Modern Bedroom refresh turned out and how switching out just a couple accessories can make a space feel like a new room again.
