MODERN SLIDING BARN DOORS
Don't you just love a good sliding barn door? They save space and can be used where you can't otherwise use a swing or pocket door. I love them on laundry rooms, pantries and used as office doors. I'm especially loving the painted barn doors in fun colors. I've rounded up some of my favorites to share with you that might inspire you to hang one in your own home.
MODERN BARN DOORS
Barn doors don't necessarily need to be rustic as seen in these spaces. These modern black framed doors were used to divide these spaces in the kitchen.
Beautiful blue barn door conceals a laundry room. I may actually like doing laundry in this space.
What was once a wall that led into a dining room, now has this dramatic black painted barn door that can close off the dining area if needed.
Gray barn doors add character to this hallway and how amazing is that ceiling?

Ever think about moving to a different area so that you can have a home like this? Well, I did when I saw this house. I just love the architecture of Southern Homes. These barn doors in this home conceal an office and bar and below a small sitting/reading area.
You can create your own barn door with most DIY kits sold at big box stores or there are some really great sources online as well like this one from White Shanty Design. Their collection of barn doors is incredible, I highly recommend checking them out.

FRIDAY FINDS
It's Friday and Halloween is almost here! My household is super excited. We have a weekend full of Halloween fun and can't wait for it to start! I also can't wait to steal all the kids kit kats on Monday.

I had been searching for a longer fall coat for years. One that was semi waterproof, had a hood, didn't look like a raincoat and was actually comfortable and this checks all those boxes. It's my favorite color right now and is a great classic piece you'll own for years.
When one of your besties shows you this vest and you can't stop thinking about it and have to race to the store to get it because it's on sale and you know you'll wear it to death. Comes in black, cream and this camel color.
Stella & Dot Bisous bracelet
This is the last weekend to purchase an item from Stella & Dot's Breast Cancer Awareness boutique and this little bracelet is the perfect gift to brighten someone's day and all proceeds benefit Breast Cancer research.
Shoes that the boys might actually wear for the holidays. These TOMS are super lightweight in person and come in a cute chambray color as well.

PROJECT ENTRY AND MUDROOM
I had the honor of working with another client of mine who I adore. She has fun style and isn't afraid of color which I can't really say for myself, so I enjoy working with people who like to go bold.
It all started with a garage that was transformed into a mudroom, small office and full bath. Three things that obviously have more use then the tiny garages that exist in New England. She chose a hardwood tile that works great for an entry. Very easy to clean and maintain but the warmth of hardwood floors. Serena & Lily wallpaper was added as an accent wall. I have used this in many colorways for clients and it's hands down one of my favorite wallpapers. It completely transformed the space. A console was painted white and added as the entry table for storage. A round wooden mirror, pearl inset lamp and decorative accessories were added to complete the entrance wall. We had the navy linen window treatments with white trim made by JaimeInteriors at etsy. She was great to work with and they look great in the space. A family gallery wall was created to personalize the space and greenery to finish it off. What was once a drab dark garage is now a fun entrance for this family to enjoy when they come home!

FRIDAY FINDS: FALL DECOR
Happy Friday! Heading into what is hopefully a beautiful fall weekend. We've been having dreary rainy weekends which have been messing with our fall plans this year. But here are a couple of my favorite fall porches / Halloween decor to follow on instagram right now that don't look so gloomy!

Our house is looking a little batty as well. I'll be sharing some pics from our spooky decor next week but Courtney's buffalo check vase makes these bats look less scarier over @athoughtfulplace
Go big or go home is my thought on outdoor planters and Elizabeth @prettypink2lips creates these awesome fern fall planters. I wish ferns could survive the fall weather up here because they look great in planters.
My very own brothers pumpkin stack @cregs210 is looking ready for some trick or treaters. (You should see his house at Halloween, it's one of our favorite holidays to decorate for)
